Well said but my twitter account has been suspended since August 2018 cos of copyright issues I posted a video without permission from the owners of the content. I have tried contacting the company based in Germany to get in touch with twitter to unsuspend my account but there isn’t any response. I even translated what I typed to German as I don’t understand the language but still no word. I contacted twitter and they replied and said I need to get in touch with the company in Germany. I have missed chatting with my friends on it. Can you please help . My Twitter account is @iamscholes

  2. Good

Have file appeal but Twitter says my account will remain suspended… What should I do next?

  3. Kim says:

Twitters responses to the ‘appeal’ process are also automated. Twitter has a bias stance on how they define “hateful conduct.” The following description is for hateful conduct from Twitter. “You may not promote violence against or directly attack or threaten other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or disease.”

For the following response my account was suspended:

If I could post a pic of the following I would to prove nothing was altered. Twitter DOES NOTlike the truth when presented factually.

“@Nelba_MG @shaunking When a family has been destroyed bc an illegal alien shot, raped, stabbed, set on fire an innocent legal US citizen the #TenYearChallange takes on an entirely different meanings these people’s lives were cut short bc the illegals are NOT supposed to be here.#BuildTheDamnWallNow https://[…]”

    I did NOT promote violence
I did NOT directly attack or threaten ANYONE
I simply stated facts. Upon appeal to Twitter, I sent links to each article where an American family was destroyed by an illegal alien for the above stated reasons.

However, all I received was another automated response. When I tried to deactivate my account while following Twitter links, I received error messages.

can anyone help me restore my account as it suddenly showed up thaty account is suspend and I have sent and appeal form but no reply till now……

    • Harshita Agrawal says:

      Hi Kaustuv!

When did you submit an appeal form? Maybe you should wait for 2-3 days for their reply before trying out any other thing.

  5. Noha says:

I did everything you said but Twitter support reply was that it was suspended for impersonation and will not be restored. It is a fan account and I did not impersonate anyone. Is there any chance I could get it unsuspended?

    • Harshita Agrawal says:

      Hi Noha,

Thanks for your comment. With Twitter’s strict implementation, it’s difficult for me to say if it can be unsuspended if you’ve already tried everything. I’m sorry I can’t help further.

  6. Maha Ayman says:

my twitter suspended my account due copyright issues, I wrote them an email apologizing (it was a mashup i made for ariana) and I said i didn’t mean to and I’m sorry and they sent me

“Email attachments are not accepted for security reasons, and are removed by our support system.

Twitter accepts copyright complaints submitted through our copyright complaint form: https://support.twitter.com/forms/dmca. Use of our web form is the most efficient method to ensure Twitter will expeditiously review your notice. More information about our copyright policy, including information on how to file a counter notice, is available on our help center: https://support.twitter.com/articles/15795. ”

I emailed copyrights@twitter.com and they didn’t help and sent the same email..please help me

    • Harshita Agrawal says:

      Hi Maya,

Is this the first time you faced any copyright issue with Twitter or has it happened before? Because according to Twitter, in case of copyright infringement:

Twitter’s response to copyright complaints may include the removal or restriction of access to allegedly infringing material. If we remove or restrict access to user content in response to a copyright complaint, Twitter will make a good faith effort to contact the affected account holder with information concerning the removal or restriction of access, including a full copy of the complaint, along with instructions for filing a counter-notice.

Did Twitter contact you to remove your video with the complaint? Because I’m guessing you must have missed their complaint and then they would have suspended your account? Is it?

  9. Andrea Marie says:

Good day! I’ve been suspended for almost 3 weeks. I’ve sent an appeal last March 3,2019 and the response they sent was

We received your appeal regarding your account. Please reply to this message and confirm that you have access to this email address. Once we receive your confirmation, we’ll review the information you provided and will respond as soon as possible.

We typically suspend accounts for violations of the Twitter Rules (https://twitter.com/rules) or Terms of Service (https://twitter.com/tos). Additionally, repeat violations may result in permanent account suspension.

    Twitter Support

I replied to their email and confirm that I have access to my email address but still there’s no response. I became inpatient so I resend an appeal

    • Harshita Agrawal says:

      Hi Andrea,

I don’t think sending multiple appeals to Twitter is a good idea or will help. You should wait for their response, as there’s nothing else you can do after sending an appeal. The final decision is theirs. But, if you’re using Twitter aggressively or sending out hate tweets, or any other violation of Twitter policies, you must refrain from them in the future.

    • Dave says:

I keep getting the same responses. I’ve done all they asked but it does no good. They can’t just tell me if I’m suspended and for how long or if I’m terminated.

    • Maria Carolyn Ferrer says:

Mine as well, they suspended my account, and I’m so eager to get my account back, all of my memories is in there, since 2012! what should we do now, atleast before suspended us, they should warn us if we did something wrong, what about facebook? there’s a lot of people who uses facebook in a bad ways. i filed an appeal, I did explained to them everything, and even send my personal Identifications, still they suspended my account, it is so unfair.

Twitter uses automation, and has automation rules, so its a bit hypocritical for them to be suspending accounts based on automation, and this is the same excuse they’ve given me for the 7 times they’ve locked me out of my account.
I once opened a new account, it didn’t even tweet. It was for a business and twitter immediately suspended it.
In all cases they demand a phone number to reopen it. That is where I draw the line, giving my personal phone number that is connected to so many other important things to a random company in a state I don’t even live in.
Why should they be allowed to violate our privacy ?
Sick and tired of twitters automated antics. Each and every time they suspended my account/s they cited automation.
This is a lie and am sick of being falsely accused by twitter. ALL the tweets are tweeted by me in real time.
Its disgusting how this is playing out.

Its informative but there are other reasons peoples accounts get suspended. Just read an article stating people who understand twitters algorithms sometimes strive to get political opponents suspended intentionally. No one is talking about that, but its important because there is a lot of political back & forth on twitter and in many cases the account holder has NOT violated twitters rules.
I know that’s the case with me.

  14. Robert Garrow-Pugh says:

I was suspended because of a copyright complaint made against a live stream link I had copied and pasted from another account, yet I have no way of knowing who the complainant is, who they are asking for in order for a retraction to be made! I’m stuck – Any advice?

  15. Moser says:

oh no. this person saying their twitter account has been suspended for 3 weeks with no contact from support just crushed my hopes.

my account was suspended yesterday. i sent my appeal 1 hour after the suspension, responded to the confirmation email as soon as i got it.

i compromised to sit tight and patiently wait for a development. but does twitter simply ignore some appeals? is that a thing they do?

  16. Leigh says:

Hello, I run a fan account and discovered it had been suspended for impersonation however I looked at the guidelines and realised my account was definitely not within violation of them. The rules state that “accounts with similar usernames or that are similar in appearance (e.g. the same profile image) are NOT automatically in violation of the impersonation policy” my profile picture was a picture of the person I am a fan of but my display name was my own name. The rules continue “In order to violate our impersonation policy the account must portray another entity in a misleading or deceptive manner” which I never did, as I said, my display name was my own name, I tweeted about myself never pretending to be the person in my profile picture, all my followers were aware of my true identity as I tweeted pictures of myself, my age and where I come from. No one was mislead or deceived into believing I was anyone but myself. I appealed once already, all I said in the description was that I believe my account was wrongfully suspended and I got a reply within a few hours informing me of why my account had been suspended and they said my account would not be restored but I replied to that email stating what I said above and filled another appeal form going into further details of how I know my account didn’t violate any twitter rules. I am waiting for a response, however I am very anxious and I was wondering if you’d have any more insight, if the steps I am taking are correct or if there’s even a chance I’ll get my account back. Thank you.

  21. Ariane says:

hello! I’ve been suspended out of the blue and sent two appeal forms to twitter to unsuspend my account. they replied within 3 days saying they had decided to unsuspend my account (the reason for the suspension was violation of twitter rules, no idea why tho.). However when I try logging in it still says I’m suspended. i don’t know how else to contact twitter. has anyone else met delays between twitters answer and their acc’s recovery?
    thank you

    • Jaclynn Koury says:

Hi! The same thing happened to me, Ariane. My account was suspended on April 2. I appealed the process through the proper channels, and on the night of April 4, I received an email stating that my account would be unsuspended. It is now one week later, I still can’t access the account. Other accounts that were suspended have been recovered, but not mine. My account didn’t violate any rules that I know of. What have others done, aside from re-appealing, which I did today, when that happened?

    • Jaclynn says:

I’m having the same issue. I was told a week ago my suspended accounts would be restored, but I still can’t access them. I don’t understand why they would say they are unsuspending accounts and then not follow through.

Hiya. My account was suspended because I was accessing my account from my PC and iPad. When twitter asked me if I am a robot. I responded it back on my iPad but no on my PC then my account boom suspended. I followed the procedure three times then twitter sent me the same automated email stated that they have decided to unsuspend my account however, the suspension is still remaining on my account… now I don’t know what to do… Any help?

  23. David Beach says:

Hello, my Twitter was suspended on April 2, 2019. I can log-in and see my page but could not send tweets or DM’s. I appealed and received a email on April 11, 2019 stating my Twitter account will “remain suspended” due to “Creating multiple accounts”. Yes, it’s true. I created three accounts to cover three different topics of discussion. I didn’t know that was a violation of Twitter rules. I tried to open a new Twitter page but it was suspended before I could send one tweet. Is there anything I can do to have them un-suspend at least one account so I can communicate with family and friends? Honestly, I didn’t know I violated their rules. Thank you for the advice.

  24. Angus Pang says:

My account was suspended back in January. I have sent several appeals but all have said that my account won’t be restored. The reason I was suspended was because I was replying to a tweet asking for favorite movie quotes and I did “i will find you and i will kill you” with no intention of ever sending it as a threatening tweet. Nothing online seems to say anything on what to do if twitter won’t restore accounts if the appeal doesn’t work. please help.

  25. The article made total sense, but it definitely has not worked in my case. I logged on to Twitter two months ago to find I was suspended for some unknown reason. I changed my password and took all the necessary steps including filing an appeal. I waited about five days and refiled thinking maybe Twitter did not receive my original appeal. I haven’t been able to review, direct message, respond, or even deactivate my account. I finally got a canned response from Twitter stating I’m suspended and it usually takes a couple days but could be a little longer to investigate. I heard nothing. So, being the only way to communicate with them, I used their appeal process asking if I was suspended, and for how long or was I banned permanently. All I received again was the canned response. I’ve went through this process at least twenty times to no avail. Last night, I received an email saying they asked me for additional information which is not true so I have no idea what they want from me. I provided my phone number, email, and changed my password again. But, as usual I’m still suspended. It’s obvious their system is useless. All I want to know is I’m suspended and for how long, or am I terminated since their is no such thing as “permanently suspended.” If terminated, I just want my information totally removed as I’m getting requests from followers but I can’t respond.

My account was suspended (30 days) for “violating twitter rules” I was given the option to appeal which I chose to do. I keep seeing the message stating that they are reviewing my appeal. After several WEEKS that message changed to we are almost ready to reply regarding your appeal. No the message is back to “you have appealed these 2 tweets and while your appeal is ongoing you can not access your account” then at the bottom of the page it gives me the option to CANCEL the appeal. This has been ongoing since the END of March and I have not received any information one way or the other. Crazy.

My twitter just got suspended today because of copyright violation when I had no clue my videos broke any twitter rules. I wasn’t posting anything for publicity or to gain anything from them, they were just for fun. I sent and submitted all my appeals and did so many counter-notices for all the copyright reports my account has gotten. I am extremely nervous twitter won’t get back to me in a timely fashion. I’ve been hearing the earliest would be a week to a month to as long as many months. This is my first time ever being suspended and I get the worst anxiety over nothing. If there’s anything anyone can do to help me get twitter to speed up my account being restored, that would be so much appreciated. I’m desperate!
